Fantastic shading there dude.Most heavily shaded pics I do are with a clutch pencil and you really don't get as much contrast as you normally would.Yours has great contrast though. Wolfs are always cool 2!

Very gorgeous work. I like the way you did the fur.... Fur still scares me in graphite - I haven't tried it yet, but maybe soon. The eyes are so wild and primal looking. You did a great job in making him a wolf and not a dog in wolf's clothing. (does that make sense?) To Buse: If something is well done and convincing as this is, then I don't think viewers should sit and stare at it and try to find something wrong. If something doesn't leap out at me as being wrong, then I'm not going to sit and hunt or make something up to make myself feel important. That's not what critique is. Part of critiquing is knowing when a piece is well done and communicates well, and this does.

Thank you very much Sulariade. I know what you mean because in the early stages of this drawing it was veering off into an Alsation looking wolf. I find it harder to do straight forward looking portraits as it is harder to show how long the muzzle should be, as opposed to a side profile which is easier. I hate doing fur but have a go you will find your own way of getting around it after a bit of practice.

I agree that it's very good... It seems like it's looking in two different directions, though? Not sure, might just be me... EDIT: To be precise, it seems like it's looking at an object hovering a bit above his nose, but there's no object there. Hmm. EDIT 2: buse claims to be from Sweden, and in swedish buse means "lesser criminal" or somebody that does pranks, or, well, "jester"... something in that general direction, a bit hard to explain, really. Does not leave a very serious impression, does it?
