Description

I decided to give my lady robot a companion. I have no idea what they are doing though.

Thanks for looking.

Painted in photoshop 7.0...STILL!

P.S Thanks to anyone who voted for me in the nominations. I appreciate it even though I feel weird in yellow

Very cool. There seems to be something weird with the way the background relates to the robots. Looks almost like they are either really big or the room is very small. Dunno what to do to fix that though. Great work other than that though.

Excellent work Andydude

Great mood and lighting
I like the fact that the picture doesn't explain itself and gets your own imagination going.

Great reflections

+ 10:)

Thanks taaeb

Shark I never noticed myself but yes maybe the perspective isn't quite right or the DOP? I will have to look at it with fresh eyes lol. Thanks

Thanks Vincentdudemaman! i didnt really have a story for this other than they were sort of exploring so making your own story up is cool.

Mr & Mrs Robot LOL

Very cool on the anatomy side :)

Avatar Sharkh20

I think it has to do with the color values. Mostly around where the outside arms are of both robots. You start to get into that red and it pulls the background forward maybe? who knows, just looks that way for me, so it might be fine for everyone else :)

thank you Moser

Shark, I think I can see what you mean! The more I look the more i see what you are getting at!

Those robots are shiny as hell, and I love it. Also loving how empty the space is and the intricate doors. If you were in the mood for some minor tweaking, I'd point out that the second floor walls look paper thin due to the way they've been broken.

An excellent successor to the original. (thumbup)

thanks Kerry. You made a very good point!!! I must sort the walls out they do look thin. Cheers

You already know my thoughts on this one :) on DeviantArt ;).
And you don't look weird in yellow - you look buff :p ahaha. Have you been working out? hahaha.

Anyway, YAY TO ANDY! :). I have to say I'm pleased with this ones details every time I see it. And as mentioned before it is neither too much or too less in this image. Great work Andy.

Beautiful. Great composition and depth.
The perspective is indeed odd, but I figured this is how it is when you invade a house arriving out from space. They indeed look much surprised.

really enjoy the details in this one. the windows and the male robot's ribcage are too freakin' cool! i really like the atmosphere too, clean and simple yet with hints of chaotic details poking out from here and there. good stuff!
  • oh yea, and i have forgotten to say congrats with the 'new' golden rags! ;)

I really like the metal work on the robots and the strange sense of scale with the perspective of height. Wonderful work Andy!!

Avatar MsMichelleLynn

Andy, you look good in yellow. The color suits you. Great job with the robot anatomy. I might have toned down the contrast or highlights a bit. Not sure what to make of the white blotches in the windows. Great work as usual.

Are they thinking of buying the house ?

Great work and use of particle effects, love the brush strokes, very Mozart ;)
God I am good at this..

Keep it up !!!

And as for the Yellow........... I have been a supported of you changing jackets for over a year ! not because once in a blue moon you half witty, but because of your talent !!!

Avatar curlyhair

 01/20/08 @561

Looks like they're wondering who they are :) I like the concept. Kinda sad painting ..don't know really why I'm getting this feeling..maybe because they're looking so small and fragile :) and lost.
If it was a photo I'd say it's overexposed.Too many bleaks.
Nice atmosphere.
Congrats on the gold jacket ^_-

Purplerose, Roadrunner, Carlos and Gary thanks very much indeed

VRae yeah I look like Vin Diesel in this don't I?

killafence I like his ribcage too

Michelle you know how many times I switched from this version to a more 'normal' contrast version? lol in the end I thought be brave and go with what you prefer. I know it might be too overexposed for some but thats cool with me. Cheers

A to the H I remember when the wit came at a rapid 'once every half day' pace. Alas I have no magic in me anymore and the little people have stolen my lambs. Thanks my main man (Rainman again!!!)

curly, yes I agree if it was a photo it would be too overexposed but I took a leap of faith and decided to leave it this way. Whether it worked or not I dont really know but I like it. Cheers very much lady

Cool work Andy, The design of th robots is fab. I assumed they were really tall. They look to me like they're waving at people long gone in the room. Robot Reverie, sort of thing. The floor looks like water (Maybe I'm too used to seeing that just at the mo (I live in Yorkshire, it's a little wet up here). Well Done fella :)

Avatar Andy--Jones

 01/22/08 @536

thank you zahara for your comment :)

Raphael cheers for the comment. I think they are supposed to be sort of human sized but I am not sure I got the perspective or proportions in relation to the surroundings quite right. Its quite difficult lol.

PS. I always imagined you lived in the USA for some reason! Lovely Yorkshire :)

Yo Andy!

Nice work on this one, love the design of the robots and reflections. Some parts are a little flat. The back round would benefit from some atmospheric misting for distance. The doors size don't marry up with the distance of the upper floor, they look like they should be a tad bigger. The ground floor could probably do with some debris to help with depth and detail.

Hope that helps a bit. :)

All in all good work mate.

And no you probably won't see a painting from me for a while...I've moved onto modeling...with clay.

Avatar Andy--Jones

That is just freaking amazing..... I love it

If there is anything that should be changed, then perhaps Mrs Robot's figure could be a bit more curvy, but then again who knows whether the alien's really are curvy ;)

GREAT WORK!

Avatar Andy--Jones

 01/23/08 @684

Sandra and LiddleLarsen yes you may be right about the hips/ womanly shapes, it might have made her a bit more interesting. Thank you both

You know, I think I like the background the best out of all this. There are so many deails that come out that I can see when I study. I like the robots and how you have designed them especially the hair!

MY GOODNESS they are shiny! *breaths on robot and draws smiley face*

well done! Andy you totally rock, I'd give you a noogie if you weren't all the way over there. *points*

To me it looks like they have just been activated and are trying out their joints.

Agree with the paper-thin top wall though. I think seeing a little more of the edge of the wall on the sides of the windows would fix that problem.

9/9 as always.

Avatar Andy--Jones

 02/01/08 @831

hahah what is a noogie? Or shouldn't I ask?

Anyway thanks for your comment Amanda and yep I will sort that wall out one day!
