I'd have to agree with Daykan on the word "Amazig" - although it's not a word:p.

Great work on the details, and the smokey stuff..
I like the girl in the water too, interesting monster ..
The movie of this film I always found to be a much terrifying experience to actually bare with, and I think you have captured some of that emotion in the picture - the atmosphere.
I like your background also. I like how you always find you can put more and more things in without cluttering the image.
For instance, you have birds, the center creature, fellow background creatures :o, the girl, the grass, the water and the sky. And it all works out nicely GREAT WORK ANDY!

wow! this is definitely one of my favorites of your paintings so far. i just love the atmosphere you created and the design of the alien 'tripods' is really excellent. the green vs. metal looks menacing and toxic :p most of all i like the depth you've created in this one. the foreground with the little girl and the teddy bear, the background with the army of tripods, the way you've painted the colors in the sky so the artwork as a whole tells the story all by itself, that's very impressive.
+10 well deserved!

I've seen the movie several times and can tell you that your interpretation is an excellent one! All I can say is WOW. I'm just glad you made this so large so that we can see the detail.

Now you must do a drawing of a monster Osprey swooping down after a fish! I have many Osprey photos which you would be welcome to use if you ever decide to do such a project.

Avatar Andy--Jones

 11/22/07 @605

Actually Michelle that would be great! I wouldnt make it a giant osprey monster though lol. But I would deffo love to have a go at doing an osprey. I used to do wildlife traditionally quite a lot but have never had a go digitally (if you dont count the small animals in the witch pictures!) So yeah send some on over and I will have a go :)

Thanks for your comment too :)

awesome pic, but personally I think a dark robot would suit the scene better.
When I scrolled down this page, I found the lower half of the image, (the kid with that nasty pile of something, plus the dark background) is really scary,
while the upper half, because the robot is white and is so.... you ^^, plus blue sky, it acually look kinda innocent. Very contrast, like they're from different paintings
