Description

I don't really know where I was going with this one. Seemed like a good idea at the start but I must say I didnt really enjoy it. Anyway I decided to finish it nonetheless and get it out the way as I felt I had done too much to just scrap it.

Photoshop 7.0 from a pencil sketch

Cheers

P.S she is a young girl...about 12 years old

I like this, the background is great, but the objects in the foreground could use a little more refining. It looks awesome!

Her legs are really short...did you intend that? Otherwise, I think you did a lovely job! Great work on her face and the details. ^__^

I like the BG a lot, the dark-light mood, nice pic! +9

I didn't think this was yours first Andy! There was no long legged women! lol
Joke aside, it's really well done. It's different from your other works and I think that's nice. :) The textures are great and especially that futuristic-after war-mood. It reminds me of the Mad Max movies. :p

Andy I can understand why you don't enjoy this artwork. Even I myself find it a bit tedious, especially compared to your style. But it's still a great work and I really like the way you render the wood and the background behind (something for me to learn :))

+8/9
(Dammit I still can't manage to see your "Alien of the Caribean" work because some unknown problems!!!)

Looks like a character from Mad Max 3. Horrible movie, but your painting is great, I think.

very nice Andy. I like the grungy strokes on the girl, makes her clothes look worn and dirty.

looks cool!
its almost like a child born when all of the other people have died... so all the old buildings are still standing... but noone is there anymore... only them
nice ^^

Petra Thank you very much. I did try something a little different here but i am not sure it worked. Glad you like it though :)

llama you sound like Epilogue hahaha but I agree it soes need more refining. Thanks

Saiman I am not sure if you knew it was a young girl of about 12 so I added that to the description. Thanks for the nice comment

Hybridos thank you very much

Sandra thanks and yes I was partly inspired by Mad Max, I was even going to have an australian cattle dog in it :)

Thank you Nunos

Mysticcat I agree it was very tedious. As for the Alien you can see it on DA if you want I will add a link to it on here just incase anyone else cant see it :)

NKN I loved MM3 but I guess it holds sentimental memories for me as I was actually a young teen when it came out :)

Cheers deManuel and Simawhy

XeriuX cheers I was going for that sort of atmosphere :)

And thanks to Bea, razpna and Carlos :)

I love everything about this except for the stubby legs. I know she's a little girl, but the legs just don't look quite right to me. Otherwise, the composition, details, and color scheme are wonderful. +9

Love the MM3 influence here
Very nice work and particularly the slightly monochromatic impression, the contrast and lightning!

I really love the lightsource coming from the right. This isn't your strongest IMO but still an amazing piece regardless. The flock of seagulls is a nice touch and the overall color scheme works well I think. I admire your work!

Something about her reminds me of Halle. I like the design and the lok on her face. It slike she found a friend in an unexpected place.

 05/30/07 @937

Very pretty!!! I loveeee it!!!!!!!!!!

*And to the others who commented on the stubby legs, I don't think they are stubby, they're perfectly normal, it's just that the waist is not defined with the clothing she's wearing so it looks like that. Also I think the hips are a bit too "womanly" for girl, so that also gives the illusion.....*

Like it Andy (dude) , you have your own growing unique style which is becoming very recognisable :)

Adore this desolation theme and feel you have to this, the dim colours work well, the close up wood detail also rules . . . .

Very nice . . . .

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Gianna do you mean she of the Berry?

Viking, thanks for the support on the stubby legs :) I do agree that the hips could be less adult to give a better idea of her age

Bill thanks, I myself cant see it but I guess you need to be someone else to notice it :)

Gavade much appreciated. I HATE doing wood too lol

Gorgeous painting; you have such a skill with rendering textures. None of this seems artificial. The dirt feels gritty, the environment dusty...very nice.

this is really great, and very different to your previous works too. i think she looks a bit too mature to look 12, particularly her face and hands, but that doesn't bother me at all. she's still a really cool character. love the hair. and yes, the atmosphere, the city in the background, the wood, the dust, it all rocks.
