Description
This was done in pretty much the same process as Bitch out of hell. Initially sketched on paper then scanned and coloured in photoshop. Reference from a mazine somewhere was used in part for her pose. Her clothes are made up.Cheers

Concept:Average |
Technical Skill:Strong |
Impact/impression:Average |
Pros:BG very nice woman looks good good color choices Cons:ok the part where she is doing two things with her hands, smoking and flame coming out of her finger I think it should be one of the other
the back part of the cape is missing and if there is so much flame around here her cape would also be on fire. yes no? Overall opinion/feedback:my second review im running out things to say

Pros:Good concept, strong impact as far as the concept goes. You're making good progress on your skills and patience.
Cons:But...the technical skill still isn't all that, very inconsistent.
Overall opinion/feedback:You're getting there.

More dynamic colors...check
All elements seem to be interacting...check
Finally zoomed in on the subject a bit....check
Chose a more dynamic angle to portray the scene.....F'n A CHECK!
Andy this is by far THE best work you've ever posted here....I don't know if I'm excited because of the painting, or the fact that you actually pushed yourself in a new direction which is such a rarity here.
Ok for crits (c'mon, as one of my favs you have to get some)
-The sky could use a bit more blue, not much....but it's coming off a little too grey on my monitor.
-The flames aren't all yellows/oranges in real life....believe it or not there should be some blue in there too.
-The tail coming from her butt (under the dress) seems much lower then where it starts to show outside the dress. Unless there is a wicked curve that we can't see. If it's a seperate layer....maybe you can move it down just a little.
Holy crap man, I'm really amazed at this one.....I've been hanging back on the voting again lately but I'll pull the +10 out of the attic for you.
My next challenge to you.....DOF in a painting. Take a look at
I would like to show you the progress I've been making but I had to give my tablet back to work, so I'm deadlocked for new paintings until I move next week. Unless Santa brings me a WACOM

See? See? You give me this much and now I demand more!!!!
12/20/05 @644
really nice

Oh and get that bloody tablet back!!!!
Thank you very much recce and eowyn
EDIT* Brett that bit under the dress isnt actually her tail! Its part of the dress as it is split at the back...that is also why the tail is free. I maybe should try to make it look more like the material....Ok I actually got rid of that bit now as it was distracting. Cheers Brett.

You've done damn good piece of art Andy, wonderful job and gosh i love her shoes and her stockings
12/20/05 @684
patrix, fretty....this is why it's taking me so long to crit your stuff
12/20/05 @685
but hey it was worth our wait
beautiful work..loved the flames and that father can be heard cursing
bret has already told all the necessary things to be said
an insignificant lil crit would be her left arm and hand position makes her look like she is dancing
but i believe you wanted to draw right after she inhaled one from the cig and as she lower her hand???
but hey dancing works better for me
gives her a more cynical look
and some parts could be highlighted such as the cigarette
so it could be more visible and with some smoke to complete the composition
+10 my first 10 by the way goes to my buddy andy

Brett has said it all really so ditto him!....except the flames in the foreground bit (don't lose the boots!!!)...in particular his idea for heat haze sounds quite cool (or should that be hot?)

Love how you've painted her figure and the boots are great! I'm not completely sure about the mantle above her head...but oh well...it's great in any case!

And Kallen thank you very much. The sky is a dark blue and the clouds are a sort of white blue into blue grey, but not grey. I appreciate it may look grey as I could have spent more time on the sky too. Thank you very much for your crit Kay.

Merry Christmas!!!
12/25/05 @634

Well Brett snatched a lot of what I might have said, so I'll go and find a piece of his older works and give it a good verbal thrashing, then trash it! Actually in truth, I have very little in the way of crit or advice as I don't really deal with CG myself as such, so can't really say a lot. But I do like this new one from you - a lot!
Is it a coincidence or does she look a lot like your last date? Just wondered. Wouldn't want her hand roaming round my wherewithalls though, I must admit.
Great submission Andy - Happy New Year!

Hope you have a good new year!
